Södertörns university welcomes all international students to experience academic studies and student life at one of the youngest universities in Sweden.
We have divided the information into two different sections: one for exchange students and one for free movers. Free movers are students travelling abroad to study, but not within an Erasmus, bilateral or other type of agreement.
Please note that an exchange student is a student from a university with which we have a formal agreement about exchange studies, either via the Socrates-Erasmus programme or via a bilateral agreement. The student must be nominated by the home university for a study abroad semester or year at Södertörns university.
If you are not sure whether your university has an agreement with us, please check the list of our Partner Universities.

If you are a free mover looking for information, you will find a list of our course selection in English under the link to the left "Free Movers" and "Courses in English for Non Exchange Students". Have you already been admitted, and are looking for practical information, please contact the free mover organization at the Student Union.
It is very important that you read through all the practical information, especially about housing, accomodation and such matters. Finding accomodation can be very hard in Stockholm, and we have put together some accomodation information for you under "Accomodation Information 1 and 2" to the left. Please make sure you read that information before deciding on applying to Södertörn university, as we know that finding accomodation can be very hard.
If you already are in Sweden you can always visit Kompassen, our guidance counselling center at Södertörns university. At Kompassens web page you will find out our opening hours and how to find us. You can also contact the Student Service phone or email, the phone number is +46 (0) 8 608 32 00 and they are open every weekday from 9-12 and from 12.30 to 3 pm. You can also email our Student Services on the following address: studentservice@sh.se
The official Semester Start is on the 30th of August, 2010. The Orientation Programme will guide you through some practical matters as a new student. Please not that the programme will be updated along the way, as changes are common up until the official Semester Start. All English speaking students are welcome!
