With hundreds of millions of people around the world using it daily, English is undoubtedly one of the most important languages in our world today.  In virtually every country, it is an essential part of business, research, commerce, technology, politics, news and many other fields where the exchange of ideas is essential.

At Södertörn University College we look forward to an international and multicultural future. For us, all languages are therefore tremendously important. At the English Department, the rich cultural and linguistic heritage of the English-speaking world is of particular interest.

We offer courses at Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. English also plays an important role in many of the programs at Södertörn University College.

English is part of the European Studies Program, the Media, English, and Globalization Program, and the INTEK Program. English is also a choice of subject for the Teacher Education Program.
